Expert Therapist

Joshua Wies has been practicing physical therapy since 1993 after graduating from Boston University’s Sargent College. In addition to clinical practice, Joshua has taught at Boston University; University of Maryland; University of Cambridge, England; and Anglia Ruskin University. He conducted research as the Senior Research Physiotherapist of the Rheumatology Research Unit of the University of Cambridge Teaching Hospital in England. Joshua has presented at conferences in the United States, England, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, and Spain.

Joshua Wies completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park, before pursuing a career in physical therapy. After qualifying as a PT, Joshua worked as a traveling therapist for several years gaining experience in a range of settings including in- and out-patient orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home health. Joshua returned to Baltimore and continued in-home health before focusing on outpatient practice. He then moved to Cambridge, England, with his wife and worked for the National Healthcare Service, again in outpatient orthopedics. After eight years, he became the senior research physiotherapist and conducted research in a range of areas with a focus on treatment of rotator cuff disorders, frozen shoulder, and foot pain all as part of a PhD program. Joshua eventually returned to Baltimore with his wife and three children to be closer to his family and was fortunate to be able to take over Mount Washington Physical Therapy, started by Bonnie Schulman, PT. In his spare time, Joshua is an avid gardener and enjoys spending time with his family.
